Living Room Wall Lights
Living room wall lights make evenings cosy. Instead of coming only from above, light falls into the room at eye level, accentuates the wall and creates pools of warm light. Here you will find wall lights in real alabaster, travertine, marble, walnut and opal glass – from a large alabaster disc to a cascade of stone.
Placing living room wall lights
- Either side of the sofa: two identical wall lights frame a sofa, sideboard or fireplace symmetrically.
- On a gallery wall: up-and-down lights such as BOKI or DALA draw beams of light on the wall and show off paintings.
- As a sculpture: large models such as the alabaster cascade INDA, the round JILVA in four sizes or MAART with up to nine alabaster discs work as wall objects even when switched off.
- Beside a reading chair: an adjustable light or an arm with a shade directs the light onto your book.
Atmosphere with natural materials
Switched on, alabaster reveals its veins against the light, travertine brings warm beige tones and a porous texture, and walnut sits well with parquet and linen. These materials give a calm, low-glare light that combines perfectly with a ceiling light and table lamps. With warm white bulbs of around 2700 to 3000 K and, if the model is dimmable, a dimmer, you can tune the light to any moment.
Frequently asked questions
How many wall lights does a living room need?
Two to four are often enough. More important than the number is that they light different zones, such as the sofa, reading chair and shelving.
How high should living room wall lights be hung?
A good guide is 160 to 180 cm above the floor; above a sofa, about 30 to 50 cm above the backrest.
