The alabaster wall light KURJE is made of nothing but stone and light: slender panels of genuine alabaster that fall in front of the light source like a curtain.
Design and materials
The panels are cut from a solid block of alabaster, have rounded edges and stand side by side in a gentle curve. Small matt black fixings add dark points along the top edge, and the frame behind is made of matt black metal. In the cascade version, a second, shorter row of three panels hangs beneath the first; the single version has only the upper row. Switched on, the light shines through the stone, the veins stand out against the light, and an ordinary bulb becomes a warm, glare-free glow. Grain, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where the light comes into its own
In the living room, above a sideboard or beside an armchair, KURJE becomes a glowing focal point, and the cascade fills larger walls too. In the bedroom, a pair of single versions beside the bed gives soft light for the evening. In a hallway or stairwell, it provides calm, low-glare orientation light. The pale stone suits oak, walnut and natural-coloured textiles.
