The alabaster wall light ALNE is pared back to two elements: a globe of solid alabaster and a slim, oval wall plate.
Design and material
The shade is made of real alabaster, cut from a solid block rather than assembled from reconstituted stone. The globe, 12 cm in diameter, sits at the top of a brass-coloured oval wall plate that discreetly takes a back seat. When switched on, the stone glows from within: the veins show against the light and the light is diffused softly and warmly. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece, so every light looks slightly different. It is precisely these natural variations that give the stone its appeal.
