Bedside Wall Sconces for Reading
Bedside wall sconces for reading free up the nightstand and put the light right on your book and pillow. In this collection you will find reading wall sconces with swiveling spots, flexible gooseneck arms and domes in travertine, marble and wood – for the bed, the reading chair or a corner of the sofa. Next to an armchair, a wall reading light also stands in for a floor lamp and takes up no floor space.
Reading sconces beside the bed
- Swiveling or flexible: TALOS has a travertine spot on a joint that turns in every direction. On SOLRA the round travertine head swivels, and FINA sits on a flexible gooseneck.
- A switch within reach: a switch on the light itself is the most practical. TALOS works with a pull chain, FINA with a toggle switch on the wall plate and SHIWU with a touch switch.
- Height: as a guide, mount the light so the head sits a little above shoulder height when you are sitting up in bed. The light then falls onto the page from above and to the side.
- Color temperature: warm white around 3000 K, as on TALOS, suits evening reading and a calm bedroom mood.
- In pairs: beside a double bed, two matching sconces look calm and orderly, and each side switches its own light.
Integrated LED or separate bulb
Some models, such as TALOS (3 W, 3000 K) and SOLRA (9.1 W), use an integrated LED. Others, like LONA with its travertine dome over an opal glass globe, take a separate bulb, so you choose the brightness and color temperature yourself. Many of these lights can be dimmed with a separate dimmer (not included); each product page states whether a model is dimmable. For hardwired wall mounting we recommend a licensed electrician.
Travertine and marble are natural materials: pores, veining and tone vary from piece to piece. Dimensions and installation notes are listed on each product page.
