Rattan Lamps

A rattan lamp brings warmth and a natural feel to any room. The weave lets light through countless small openings and, once switched on, casts a delicate pattern of light and shadow across the ceiling and walls. In this collection you will find lamps in woven rattan and bamboo: pendant lights, a ceiling light, a table lamp, a floor lamp and a round wall light.

Rattan lamps: what to look for

  • Weave and light effect: an open weave such as ANNI’s casts striking light patterns. A dense weave such as BINE’s directs the light downward more calmly, and AMRA has a white diffuser for glare-free light.
  • Size: many models come in several diameters – the rattan flower ASTA, for example, from 50 to 100 cm. Above a dining table, a shade about half as wide as the table is long looks balanced.
  • Color: natural tones go well with pale wood, linen and plants. Some models also come in brown or black, which pair well with dark furniture and metal.
  • No ceiling connection needed: the table lamp RONJA, with a rattan base and fabric shade, and the 93 cm woven bamboo floor lamp ARNE simply plug in.

Bulbs and care

Warm white LED bulbs are ideal for woven shades: they barely get warm and bring out the honey tone of the material. Each product page states whether a bulb is included. Remove dust with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum. Rattan and bamboo are natural materials, so color and weave vary slightly from piece to piece. Have pendant, ceiling and wall lights connected by a licensed electrician.

Frequently asked questions

Rattan or bamboo – what is the difference?

Both are light natural materials with a similar effect. Rattan is usually woven more tightly, bamboo often in wider strips. The material of each lamp is given in its product name.
