The alabaster ceiling light BILPI is a flat stone disc that sits close beneath the ceiling. The light does not come from a visible opening but shines through the alabaster itself.
Design and materials
A round disc of genuine alabaster rests on a narrower brass base. Three small brass brackets hold the stone and add fine points to its underside. With an overall height of 6.6 cm, the light stays very flat in all four sizes. Switched off, the ivory stone shows soft, honey-coloured veins; switched on, it filters the warm white LED light and spreads it into the room without glare. Grain, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where the light comes into its own
In an entrance or hallway, the 20 or 30 cm version is often enough to create calm, friendly light. In the bedroom, BILPI replaces the usual ceiling light with a soft, glare-free light source. For the living room and larger rooms, 40 or 50 cm is the right choice. Several small lights in a row also structure a long corridor evenly. Wood, linen and pale walls underline the warm tone of the stone.
