The alabaster ceiling light DESA is a round drum of natural stone panels, held together by fine brass details. When lit, each panel glows with its own pattern.
Design and material
The cylindrical shade is made of vertical panels of genuine alabaster, separated by narrow joints and fixed with two rows of small brass rivets. A brass ceiling rose and a short rod connect the body to the ceiling, while a flat diffuser closes the drum at the bottom. Light passes softly through the stone at the sides and downwards through the diffuser. The result is a calm, even light with a lively stone surface. Veining and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where the light comes into its own
Above the dining table, DESA gives a calm, even light that is kind to faces. In the living room, the 50 cm (19.7 in) version works as the central ceiling light. In an open-plan kitchen it brings natural stone to the ceiling and visually links the cooking and dining areas. Wooden tables, woven chairs and pale walls pair beautifully with alabaster and brass.
