The travertine wall sconce KUMI never shows its light source: the light comes from behind a wooden disc and settles on the stone as a warm ring, almost like a small eclipse on the wall.
Design and materials
The outer ring is a disc of genuine travertine with the pores, veins and small irregularities typical of natural stone. At its center sits a round disc of solid wood in a natural tone, which warms the mineral geometry. The integrated LED module is hidden behind the wood and shines in warm white (3000 K) onto the travertine, which returns it as an even glow. Switched off, KUMI remains a quiet wall object; switched on, it gives indirect, glare-free light. The diameter is 25 cm. The LED module is built in and rated for around 50,000 hours. The pores and markings of the travertine vary from piece to piece.

Where the light comes into its own
On either side of the bed, KUMI replaces bedside lamps and creates soft light for winding down. Above a console table in the entrance, it looks like a glowing picture. In a hallway, several lights in a row set up a calm rhythm of circles of light. The pale stone and untreated wood suit oak, linen and Wabi-Sabi or Scandinavian interiors.
