The alabaster wall sconce EKO reinterprets Art Deco style: a cylinder of genuine alabaster rests on a finely fluted brass sleeve.
Design and materials
The pale stone cylinder, with bold dark veins, sits on a black ring, beneath which comes the narrower brass sleeve with vertical grooves. A short arm connects the light to the rectangular black wall plate. When lit, the alabaster glows from within, the veins stand out clearly and the light spreads warm and subdued. An E26 socket takes a bulb of up to 40 W, and the brightness can be adjusted with a suitable dimmer. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where it shines
In the living room, EKO adds an elegant accent above a sideboard or beside a reading chair, and in the dining room a pair frames a dresser or a picture. In the bedroom, the light works as warm evening light beside the bed, and in the hallway beside a mirror. Brass and black suit walnut, velvet and classic interiors with graphic details. With a dimmer, you can turn the light down in the evening until the markings of the stone take center stage.
