The alabaster wall sconce MARPAR is drawn in clear, straight lines: a slender, 48 cm tall bar of genuine alabaster, held asymmetrically by a narrow brass band.
Design and materials
The square-section alabaster body stands vertically on the wall and is held in its lower third by a rectangular plate and a fine, gold-toned brushed brass band. The contrast between the pale, ivory stone and the warm metal emphasizes the vertical line. The integrated LED shines through the alabaster: the light reveals the layers and veins of the stone and emerges dense, calm and glare-free. Switched off, MARPAR looks like a small natural-stone wall object. Grain, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.
