The alabaster wall light GERCE is all about restraint: a compact oval plate of genuine alabaster, a bracket that stays in the background, and the stone playing with the light all on its own.
Design and materials
The vertical plate with rounded ends is carved from a solid block and held by four small clips on a slim brass frame. The frame comes in gold or black, and the light in two heights: 35 and 63 cm, each 12.7 cm wide. Switched off, GERCE is a stone object with lively veining; switched on, a soft, glare-free source of light, as the alabaster diffuses the light within its depth rather than reflecting it from the surface. The integrated LED gives a warm white light at 3000 K, and is also available in a version for Triac dimmers on request. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where it shines
As a pair beside the bed, GERCE gives a warm, calm light for the evening and keeps the bedside tables clear. In the living room beside a reading chair or above a chest of drawers, the light becomes a natural stone focal point. The tall 63 cm version gives structure to hallways, stairwells and tall walls in the dining area. The gold finish suits warm wood tones, while black suits clean, graphic interiors.
