The travertine ceiling light LYRA is a compact, stepped cylinder of stone and wood that sends its light not only downwards but also to the side.
Design and materials
A hollow cylinder of porous stone is encircled by a broad ring of solid wood, with a flat disc closing it off at the ceiling. In the travertine version, the stone is a pale yellowish beige with open pores; in the black version, the stone body is deep black, with a similarly porous texture. The wooden ring is brown in both cases. Through the narrow gap between stone and wooden ring, a grazing side light emerges that softly models the surfaces. The lower opening directs the light downwards. The texture and tone of the stone vary from piece to piece.

Where the light comes into its own
At just 17 cm in diameter, LYRA suits hallways and entrances; mounted in a row, it structures a long corridor. With low ceilings, in a small bedroom or a dressing room, it provides warm light without projecting into the room. The pale version harmonizes with oak, linen and natural stone; the black version sets a bolder contrast against pale ceilings.
