The alabaster wall sconce MORTA relies on one simple gesture: a cylinder of solid alabaster, held by a restrained brass bracket.
Design and materials
The stone is carved from the block, not cast from powder. On the 48 cm model, a wide brass ring holds two alabaster cylinders, one pointing up and one down, finished with fine brass rims. The 28 cm model has a single cylinder seated on a brass sleeve. A short stem connects the body to the round wall rose. The light enters the alabaster, reveals its cloudy layers and emerges softly filtered, with no bright spots and no glare. Grain, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where the light comes into its own
In the living room, beside a bookcase or above a reading chair, MORTA brings warm, filtered light to eye level. Mounted as a pair on either side of the bed, it replaces bedside lamps. In a hallway or stairwell, the tall version structures a wall and provides calm orientation light. The small model suits smaller rooms and narrow walls; the large one suits high ceilings and wide walls.
