The alabaster wall sconce DENCI comes down to a single gesture: a cylinder of genuine alabaster on a short, angled wall arm.
Design and materials
The stone cylinder hangs below a wide metal cap, which is joined to the round wall plate by a small angled arm. The alabaster is cut from a solid block rather than assembled from reconstituted stone. When lit, the stone filters the light, reveals its veins and casts a soft, warm gradient into the room. The metal parts – wall plate, arm and cap – come in brass, nickel or black, to match taps, picture frames or furniture fittings in the room. At 32 cm high, the light stays compact and works well in pairs or rows. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.
