The alabaster wall sconce CALNA holds a disc of genuine alabaster in a curved metal bracket – a calm form in which the stone takes the leading role.
Design and materials
The 20 cm (7.9 in) disc is carved from a solid block of alabaster. A U-shaped bracket cradles it from below and flows into a slim wall arm that tapers downwards; the light measures 50 cm (19.7 in) in height overall and projects around 25 cm (9.8 in) from the wall. The metal frame is available in copper or matte black. When lit, the disc glows from within: the veins stand out against the light, and a simple E12 bulb becomes a warm, glare-free glow. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where it shines
Above a console in the entrance hall, CALNA welcomes you with a gentle accent of light. In the living room beside a sofa or bookcase, the disc brings a sculptural note to the wall. In the bedroom it works as a pair either side of the bed. With a projection of around 25 cm (9.8 in), allow enough clearance in passageways.
