The Japanese floor lamp KIRA is a square floor lantern in light wood: behind a fine shoji lattice, milky panels glow and bathe the room in calm, warm light.
Design and materials
Four slender corner posts in light wood support a grid of narrow glazing bars, just like those on Japanese sliding doors. Between them sit milky acrylic panels that diffuse the light evenly without glare. The profiled lid is also worked as a small lattice panel and glows from within too. At the bottom, a wide, profiled wooden plinth with cut-out arches completes the lantern, so that it stands on four low feet. You choose between three heights – 45 cm, 60 cm and 90 cm – with the same 25 × 25 cm footprint and the same light wood finish.

Where the lamp shines
In the bedroom, KIRA stands beside a low bed or futon and creates a muted, soothing light in the evening. In the living room, the lantern adds a warm point of light at floor level in a corner, beside the armchair or next to the sofa. The small 45 cm version also fits on a sideboard or in a niche, while the tall 90 cm version gives an entrance hall a calm welcome. Light wood and a shoji lattice suit Japanese-inspired, Scandinavian and natural interiors with tatami, linen and ceramics.
