The alabaster wall light BANSE is reduced to the essentials: a slender bar of genuine alabaster in front of a matt black wall plate, with no ornament at all.
Design and materials
The alabaster bar is cut from solid stone and extends beyond the black metal plate at the top and bottom. At 50 cm high and 12 cm wide, BANSE draws a clean vertical line on the wall. When switched on, the integrated LED lights the stone from within: the veins stand out against the light, and the translucency of the alabaster turns it into a warm, glare-free glow. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece, so no two lights look the same.
