The alabaster wall light ERTE is all about restraint: a slender gold-tone rod, a small wall plate and a cylinder of genuine alabaster that carries the light.
Design and materials
The rod is hammered, tapers to a point at the bottom and runs in front of a rectangular, rounded wall plate with the same irregular surface. At the top sits a short cylinder carved from a solid block of alabaster. The frame is made of brass; the manufacturer calls the finish copper, but it has a warm gold tone. The light does not shine out directly but travels through the stone: the alabaster filters it, softening and warming it and drawing a gradient that changes with the time of day. Veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece.

Where it shines
Above a sideboard in the living room, ERTE looks like a modern wall torch and suits Japandi interiors with wood, linen and ceramics particularly well. Mounted as a pair beside a picture or mirror, it creates clear symmetry. In a hallway or stairwell, the slim silhouette adds a calm accent without taking up space. Beside the bed, too, it gives subdued light for the evening.
